Large mooring lines can become an easy access route for rats and other rodents onto commercial vessels and superyachts.
However, large-diameter lines require dedicated protection that prevents the animal from finding a way around the barrier.
THE SWI-TEC SOLUTION
The SWI-TEC Professional Rat Guard (Art. 1126) for the commercial maritime sector is specially designed for heavy-duty mooring lines with diameters from 75 to 100 mm.
The protection system consists of a PVC disc and an automatic closure system.
FULL LINE COVERAGE
Unlike our standard protection discs for recreational boats, the 1126 system creates a barrier that automatically and fully encloses the line, preventing rodents from continuing toward the ship.
HOW IT WORKS
The guard is placed on the mooring line and can be lowered directly from on board. Once in position, the device's segments close tightly around the line, leaving no gaps or openings for the rodent to pass through.
A control line (retrieval line) allows you to lower and haul up the guard directly from the deck whenever needed.
